Hyams Beach Bird Walk
Grade and Distance: - about 3.8km (2 hours) if you do the full walk, or you could do only one of the two loops. Mostly easy to medium grade, shady in the forest but open on the beach.
Vegetation Types - Woodland, open forest, beach, parkland, suburban streets, rocky shoreline.
What to look for:
New Holland Honeyeater, Lewin's Honeyeater, Scarlet Honeyeater, Silvereye, Eastern Bristlebird, Eastern Spinebill, Eastern Rosella, Crimson Rosella, Grey Butcherbird, Satin Bowerbird, Grey Shrike-thrush, Great Cormorant, Eastern Reef Egret.

Location:
The walk can be started anywhere along the route (see map below), with Cyrus Street and Aster Street providing the easiest parking (out of tourist season). If doing the southern loop, follow Cyrus Street to the end of Lister Court at the southern end of the Hyams Beach village. Walk about one kilometre south along the firetrail, then turn left at the intersection and continue a short distance to the beautiful Seamans Beach. You can head back along the trail for more birdwatching, or take an easy walk north along the beach back to Hyams Beach and back up to Cyrus Street.
The northern loop is shorter and starts near the corner of Cyrus Street and Aster Street (see map below).
