Bomaderry Creek Bird Walk
Grade and Distance: - up to 5km circuit (2-3hrs) - medium grade, shady with steps and ladders
Vegetation Types - open forests, rainforest, sandstone cliffs
What to look for:
This is both a scenic bush walk, as well as a top birding spot only a short distance from Nowra. The sandstone cliffs along the creek are probably the most accessible sites in the Shoalhaven to see NSW's endemic Rockwarbler. Yellow-tufted Honeyeaters are almost always seen here. Spotted Pardalotes and Satin Bowerbirds are common around the picnic area. Yellow-faced, White-naped, White-cheeked and New Holland Honeyeaters, Rufous and Golden Whistlers, thornbills and fairy-wrens can be seen in the forest, as well as less common pigeons such as Brown Cuckoo-Dove and Common Bronzewing.

Location:
From the Princes Highway at Bomaderry, turn off at Narang Road and travel for 300m to the park entrance on the left. This walk offers a few options, all within a beautiful sandstone gorge. The She-Oak Crossing Walk is a more diffcult 5km loop across the creek. Bernie's Lookout is an easier walk.
This walk can also be found in the Shoalhaven Bird Walks brochure.
